Groups of people working together have their difficulties.  Use group norms and good processes (build sound agendas, structure work effectively and efficiently, reward success) to minimize difficulties. 
Remember that group work in school is often called "cheating;"  in the work world it's "teamwork."

We each take different behaviors within different groups and over different issues. It takes time for groups to develop. Every time a new person joins the group, this developmental process must start over - often moving quite quickly. These are excellent norms for work groups. Attributes of effective groups
